Feeding Plan Dining Hall (Kosher for part of summer) Dining Hall program loved by some, hated by others.  Sometimes the portions are made for an 11 year olds appetite.  Sometimes, seconds are not forthcoming.  Big dining hall, could seat over 400 in its heyday.  It can get hot, rowdy and boring, particularly if the songs stink.
Type of Sites Leanto and tents Sites are pretty well secluded for the most part.  Some of the outer sites take a little bit of walking to get to where the action is.
Swimming Facility Rock Lake Rock lake is an old, flooded quarry.  The bottom is not muddy and the lake is pretty clear.  New docks, composite material.  No splinters and it stays pretty cool.
Boating Facility Rock Lake Canoes, rowboats, sailboats.
Unique program item in Camp Repelling from Indian Cliffs, new Science Center Science center is amazing.  Indian cliffs and Picture Window is the most scenic spot on the reservation.  Indian Cliffs is on the TMR patch, it is kind of the symbol of the whole reservation.
Parking Facility Central parking lot near the office
Water Available right in your site As with all TMR summer camp sites, wash stand, water fountain and water spigot will be right in your site.  Some sites share latrines which Baden Owl thinks can be a nightmare at times, especially if you have an (A or B site.)  Ask when you make the reservation.
Latrine Pit style latrine in each site.
Shower Facility Central shower house, partially renovated In the process of being renovated.  Adult leader showers in the office.
Biggest Advantage Kosher dining facility for Sabbath observant scouts for part of the summer Although it is a non-sectarian camp which is open to everyone, regardless of race, creed or color it is unique in the Nation for those scouts requiring Kosher feeding.  Orthodox, Jewish and Muslim troop leaders take note!
Secondary Advantage This part of the reservation was the first developed as a scout camp. The place is loaded with reminders of TMR's past.  The Red Dot Trail runs right through camp.
Primary Disadvantage It is not as utilized as much as it should You can get a reservation almost any week you need to.  There is inconsistent continuity in camp leadership.
Secondary disadvantage The access road to camp; Mahls Pond road is a long, dirt track Although the road is kept in good repair, extremes of the weather can sometimes make travel a little difficult.
