Feeding Plan Dining Hall Dining Hall program loved by some, hated by others.  Sometimes the portions are made for an 11 year olds appetite.  Sometimes, seconds are not forthcoming.  Big dining hall, could seat over 400 in its heyday.  It can get hot, rowdy and boring, particularly if the songs stink.
Type of Sites Leanto and tents The sites can be a little close, particularly on "the hill".  Wandering scouts can sometimes stray through your site while looking for their sites.
Swimming Facility Crystal Lake Don't let the name fool you, the water is NOT crystal clear.  However, it is a BIG beautiful scenic lake.  The largest on the reservation.  At one time, 5 separate camps had water fronts on Crystal Lake, now there are only two.  Wave at Kernochn across the lake.
Boating Facility Crystal Lake Canoes, rowboats, sailboats, one motor boat for water skiing, availability is limited.  Gigantic war canoe for your enjoyment.
Unique program item in Camp Climbing wall, war canoe, motor boat Some limited availability or scheduling applies.
Parking Facility Central parking lot near the office, also a parking lot available at Rondack They will let you drive to the site to load and unload equipment.
Water Available right in your site As with all TMR summer camp sites, wash stand, water fountain and water spigot will be right in your site.  Some sites share latrines which Baden Owl thinks can be a nightmare at times, especially if you have an (A or B site.)  Ask when you make the reservation.
Latrine Pit style latrine in each site. Old, box style latrines in some Rondack sites can be a little disgusting (smelly).  The Council is trying to replace these.
Shower Facility 2 shower houses.  Scoutmaster showers in the Office The shower house on "the hill", has been recently renovated, and has a Scoutmaster shower in back.  The Rondack shower house is older and is pretty "rustic".  There are three stalls in the office for leaders use only.  There is a lady toilet and shower in the office.
Biggest Advantage Dining Hall facility requires little or no food prep clean-up effort on the scouts part.  It is strictly a summer camp for the kids to concentrate on summer camp program.
Secondary Advantage New climbing wall Maybe a year or two old.  The scouts LOVE this thing.
Primary Disadvantage The camp directorship turns over often from year to year.  This recurring changeover does not lead to a lot of stability in program or staffing.
Secondary disadvantage The camp is VERY spread out Some of the sites in Rondack are a 20 minute walk to the dining hall.  Remember, this used to be two camps.
