Overall Rating | 4 FDL | |
Capacity | 20 each (there is an A and B Cabin) | Bunk Beds, Upper and Lower with mattresses. If you have a larger Troop, you may want to rent out both A & B cabins. |
Kitchen Facilities | Full kitchen, refrigerator, stove, oven and sinks. | You can do a cooking show from here. |
Surroundings | It is in the Headquarters area. | Turnpike Lake nearby. |
Heat | Gas heat. BIG fireplace. | You pay for the gas you use by the number of "clicks", ie numbers that pass on the gas meter. Cold weekends can run you a pretty penny. Build a fire to save money. |
Water | Water piped right to your cabin. | And they call it "camping." |
Toilet Situation | 2 flush toilets with showers. | One of the showers is handicapped accessible. |
Biggest Advantage | Big comfortable cabin for the "hangout" weekend, or Christmas trip your unit plans. | Built with monies from the Hearst foundation, they are still in good condition and reasonably new. |
Secondary Advantage | The architect has designed 3 Easter Eggs in the cabins. | Although they look identical and the mirror image of each other, there are 3 subtle differences between A & B. See if you can find them.... |
Primary Disadvantage | The sleeping area is one big room. | If you want to sleep, and the junior leaders want to hang out, this can lead to problems. |
Secondary Disadvantage | You may have to share the front porch with another unit. | The two cabins face each other and share a common porch. |
