Caumsett Orienteering Adventure, September 2003

The Troop was in for a treat with our first trip of the season.  We went to Caumsett State Park on Long Island where we had a full schedule of orienteering and pond research.  First, the Troop engaged the Caumsett staff in identifying different animals and plant life in a fresh water pond including the surroundings.  In the afternoon, after the best sangweech competition of course, we all went on an Orienteering adventure.  This course went over the reservation where we had to find 5 fixed points.  Since our skills were finely honed, it did not take us long.  It was a good time and a great start to the Scout year.
