CPR Training, November 2004
Troop 170
knows that having knowledge that could potentially save a life is part of
being a Boy Scout. This is why every year, we conduct a CPR training
night for our Troop. The class is run by American Heart Association
instructor Thomas Lemme, as well as American Red Cross Instructor Brian
Yovine. The Scouts had a lot of questions during the session, and had
fun at the same time! Tom showed the Scouts the AED unit (Automated External Defibrillator) and how it works. He explained the electrical system of the heart as well as how the AED unit can help those people who for example have a heart attack. Brian taught the CPR section of the course, teaching both Rescue Breathing and CPR techniques for the adult. The session was very interactive, with all of the Scouts participating. |
