Feeding Plan Patrol Cooking or Heater Stack All meals cooked in site, by the patrols.  Food is picked up from the commissary at designated times.  A sheepherder type wood burning stove and gas stove is provided for each patrol and Troop.  Heater stacks for dinner (if you have that feeding plan.)
Type of Sites Tent Sites Generally the sites are spaced far apart.  Some are a bit of a walk to the central part of camp.
Swimming Facility Swimming Pool
Boating Facility Half Moon Lake Half Moon Lake is a smaller lake.  Separate boating facility with canoes, row boats and small sailboats.
Unique program item in camp Mountain biking, COPE course Some age limits apply, check with the program director.
Parking Facility Central parking lot near the office They will let you drive to the site to load and unload equipment.
Water Available right in your site As with all TMR summer camp sites, wash stand, water fountain and water spigot will be right in your site.  Some sites share latrines which Baden Owl thinks can be a nightmare at times, especially if you have an (A or B site.)  Ask when you make the reservation.
Latrine Pit style latrine in each site. The water table in this camp can be a little high requiring frequent pumping by the "honey dipper".
Shower Facility Newly renovated shower house near the pool Separate youth and adult shower facilities near the pool.  Three shower stalls in office for leaders and staff.  Separate ladies toilet and shower in the office.
Biggest Advantage Patrol cooking allows for complete patrol team building The troops and patrols have to really work together to get the job done and to programs on time.  By the end of the week, your troop will be running like a well oiled machine.
Secondary Advantage There is a swimming pool For those of you who are afraid of a lake.
Primary Disadvantage The camp is probably already booked up.  It is hard to get a reservation here The troops that go have been going there forever.  They make reservations a year in advance.
Secondary disadvantage Sometimes, the staff can have an elitist mentality.  "That's not how we do it here in Aquehonga" can be heard sometimes.  Your concerns may be listened to or ignored depending on how the camp director runs it.
